Najmanje je 95 osoba ubijeno, a 158 ih je ranjeno u eksploziji autobombe skrivene u vozilu hitne pomoći na policijskoj kontrolnoj točki u Kabulu, blizu četvrti u kojoj se nalaze strana veleposlanstva i vladine zgrade, izvijestio je glasnogovornik afganistanske vlade.

Talibani su preuzeli odgovornost za samoubilački napad, tjedan dana nakon sličnog napada na hotel Intercontinental u kojem su ubili 20 ljudi. Radi se o jednom od najkrvavijih napada u Afganistanu u posljednjih nekoliko mjeseci. Prema bolničkim izvorima, broj žrtava mogao bi još rasti.

Talijanska humanitarna organizacija Emergency u Afganistanu koja na čelu s Dejanom Panićem upravlja obližnjom traumatološkom bolnicom u objavi na Twitteru je izvijestila da je samo u njihovu bolnicu nakon napada primljeno više od 50 ranjenih.

- Ovo je pravi pokolj, masakr, rekao je Dejan Panić.

Mirwais Yasini, parlamentarni zastupnik koji je bio u blizini u trenutku eksplozije, rekao je da se vozilo hitne pomoći približilo kontrolnoj točki koja nije daleko od ureda Visokog vijeća za mir i nekoliko stranih veleposlanstava i eksplodiralo.

Dodao je da velik broj ljudi leži na zemlji.

Oblak sivog dima dizao se ponad mjesta eksplozije u središtu grada, a zgrade u krugu od više stotina metara su se zatresle od siline eksplozije. Tailbani kontroliraju golema područja Afganistana i dijelove susjednog Pakistana. S vlasti su svrgnuti u američkoj invaziji 2001., ali uspjeli su se vratiti u neka ključna područja zemlje.
